How to become a paraprofessional in Minnesota
Minnesota recognizes three paths: associate degree, 60 credits, or passing ParaPro/ParaPathways.
Requirements
Minnesota recognizes the following routes to qualify as a paraprofessional under federal Title I-A requirements and state guidance.
- Associate degree
- 60 college credits
- ParaPathways pass
For paraprofessionals choosing the exam route, Minnesota’s cut score on the ParaPro Assessment is 460. The state also accepts the newer ParaPathways assessment as an alternative.
